A major voyeurism case has shocked commuters after authorities uncovered a suspected hidden-camera operation inside the men’s restroom at Taiwan Railways Administration’s New Zuoying Station. Prosecutors estimate that hundreds of passengers may have been affected.
🚨 Discovery of Hidden Camera in Station Restroom
The case began on December 22, 2025, when cleaning staff discovered a micro camera secretly installed inside a urinal area in the men’s restroom at New Zuoying Station.
The Taiwan Railway Police Bureau’s Kaohsiung Division was immediately alerted and later launched a formal investigation under the direction of Prosecutor Chen Li-yin of the Qiaotou District Prosecutors Office.
🔍 Investigation Leads to Suspect Employee
Following an expanded evidence collection process, investigators identified a suspect surnamed Zhong, who works for the Taiwan High Speed Rail system.
Authorities believe the suspect had been secretly recording victims since March 2024, indicating a prolonged period of alleged illegal activity.

On April 14, 2026, prosecutors obtained a court-issued search warrant and raided Zhong’s residence in Zuoying District.
During the search, law enforcement officers seized computers, mobile phones, and other digital devices believed to contain critical evidence linked to the case.
