Tainan, Taiwan – February 22, 2026

A male employee in his 30s died following an industrial accident at a facility operated by Innolux Corporation in the Southern Taiwan Science Park on Saturday evening.

According to the Tainan City Fire Bureau, authorities received a report at 8:46 p.m. that a man had been injured and was unconscious inside the company’s plant. Firefighters were dispatched immediately and arrived at the scene at approximately 8:55 p.m.

Emergency responders found the worker unconscious with a suspected head injury after reportedly being struck or compressed by a heavy object. The victim sustained a laceration on his forehead measuring approximately 7 x 2 x 3 centimeters. He was transported to Chi Mei Medical Center – Yongkang Branch, arriving at 9:25 p.m.

Officials stated that the man was in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) before arriving at the hospital. Despite intensive resuscitation efforts by medical staff, he was later pronounced dead.

The incident occurred during the Lunar New Year holiday period, drawing attention to workplace safety concerns within the science park. The Fire Bureau has notified the Tainan City Accident Response Team and the Southern Taiwan Science Park Bureau. Relevant authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident and clarify responsibility.
