New Taipei City, Taiwan — December 7, 2025
A woodworking factory on Longmi Road in New Taipei City’s Bali District was engulfed in flames early this morning (December 7), prompting a large and urgent emergency response. The blaze intensified quickly due to large quantities of flammable wood materials stored inside and the limited fire-resistant capability of the metal partitions. Strong winds further fueled the flames, causing the fire to spread rapidly. The area’s scarce water supply also contributed to the severity of the blaze.
The New Taipei City Fire Department reported receiving the alarm at around 4:00 AM, alerting crews to a fire at a single-story woodworking facility on Section 1 of Longmi Road. By the time firefighters arrived, flames had already spread from the initial unit to two neighboring metal-roofed structures, resulting in three factories being affected.
A total of 159 firefighters and 60 fire vehicles were deployed to battle the blaze. Multiple water lines were laid out as crews worked to bring the situation under control. Seven individuals were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported.
Firefighters managed to contain the fire at 5:11 AM and fully extinguish it at 5:44 AM. Emergency crews remain on-site to handle remaining hotspots and prevent any rekindling.
The exact cause and point of origin of the fire remain under investigation.
