CHIAYI COUNTY, Taiwan — December 14, 2025 — A woman was found dead early Sunday morning inside a public restroom at Zuò’àn (Left Bank) Park in Minxiong Township, Chiayi County, prompting police to seal off the area as an investigation got underway.
Authorities said the victim’s identity has yet to be confirmed. Residents living near the park told police they did not recognize the woman. Initial examination found no visible external injuries on the body, and the exact cause of death will be determined following a forensic examination by prosecutors.
Police have established a security perimeter around the scene and are reviewing nearby surveillance footage while interviewing potential witnesses to trace the woman’s movements prior to her death. Investigators said all possibilities remain under consideration.
The Minxiong Township Office said it is fully cooperating with law enforcement in the evidence-gathering process. As a precaution, the women’s restroom and the accessible (barrier-free) restroom at the park have been temporarily closed until the investigation is completed.
