A viral video circulating on social media has drawn widespread criticism and alarm after showing a couple performing a dangerous motorcycle stunt on the streets of Taiwan. The footage, lasting only 19 seconds, depicts a man riding a motorcycle while a woman sits backward in front of him, her legs wrapped around his waist as they travel through traffic.

The video, which has since been widely shared across various online platforms, was originally captioned, “I’ve heard of train bento boxes, but this is the first time I’ve seen a motorcycle bento box.” While the remark was made in jest, many viewers were quick to point out the grave safety risks involved.

According to witnesses, the pair appeared calm while waiting at a red light, but when it turned green, the woman’s legs began to sway dangerously, causing passersby to gasp in disbelief.

The viral clip sparked heated discussions online, with netizens flooding the comments section:

  • “Isn’t this dangerous driving?”

  • “Suspend their licenses immediately!”

  • “This is not funny—it’s reckless and irresponsible!”
Some joked sarcastically, “Maybe they’re stuck together and can’t be separated!”

Authorities quickly responded to the incident. Police reminded the public that under the Road Traffic Management and Penalty Regulations, anyone operating a vehicle in an unsafe or dangerous manner may face fines ranging from NT$3,000 to NT$18,000. Violators can also be ordered to correct the situation or be prohibited from driving.

Law enforcement officials stressed that such reckless acts endanger not only the riders themselves but also other motorists and pedestrians. They urged the public to strictly follow traffic safety laws and avoid stunts that could lead to serious accidents or fatalities.
