TAIPEI (October 5, 2025)— Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport has been named the world’s friendliest airport, topping a global ranking released by British travel service company Airport Parking & Hotels (APH). The airport outshone Japan’s Narita International Airport and Singapore’s Changi Airport, earning the highest marks from travelers for staff friendliness and service quality.
According to the APH report, 73.6% of passengers gave Taoyuan Airport staff positive ratings, citing their courteous and helpful attitude. This placed Taiwan’s main international gateway ahead of Newquay Airport in Cornwall, UK (73.3%), and Narita International Airport in Japan (73.1%), which ranked second and third, respectively. Singapore’s Changi Airport, often praised for its facilities, came in 17th with a 65.7% positive rating.
The ranking was based on an analysis of over 71,000 Google reviews posted between May 20 and the end of August 2025. Reviews mentioning airport staff were evaluated across the world’s 100 busiest airports and 23 major UK airports, focusing on 52 keywords associated with positive staff traits such as “friendly,” “patient,” “polite,” and “professional.”
Other Asian hubs also made it to the top ten, including Jeju International Airport in South Korea (8th place) and Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates (9th place).
APH stated that the goal of the study was to highlight airports where travelers experience the most welcoming and courteous service, emphasizing that “friendly interactions with airport staff can set the tone for an enjoyable journey.”
The recognition further solidifies Taoyuan International Airport’s reputation not only as a major transit hub in East Asia but also as a model of warm hospitality and professionalism for international travelers.
