Local Governments Announce Work and Class Cancellations Amid Natural Disasters

Local authorities across Taiwan have announced widespread cancellations of work and classes tomorrow due to ongoing natural disasters affecting several regions.

In Taipei City, work and classes will be suspended in multiple villages, including Yongfu, Xin’an, Yangming, Gongguan, Jingshan, Pingdeng, Xishan, and Cuishan in Shilin District, as well as Hutian, Hushan, Datun, and Quanyuan villages in Beitou District.

New Taipei City has also declared closures in districts including Ruifang, Shiding, Pinglin, Pingxi, Shuangxi, Gongliao, and Wulai, citing safety concerns amid the adverse weather conditions.

Additional cancellations have been announced in Taoyuan City, Yilan County, Hualien County, and Penghu County. In Hualien County, classes in Qimei Village, Ruisui Township, will be canceled starting from noon tomorrow.

Officials are urging residents to stay safe, avoid unnecessary travel, and strictly follow local advisories. Authorities continue to monitor conditions closely and will provide updates as the situation develops.
