March 25, 2026 | Manila – Akbayan Party-list Representative Perci Cendaña criticized Vice President Sara Duterte for failing to attend the first day of the “mini hearing” conducted by the House Committee on Justice.
Cendaña described the Vice President’s absence as a recurring pattern aimed at avoiding public accountability. He also called it a “betrayal” of the trust of the Filipino people, emphasizing the need for transparency and responsibility from public officials.
“The Vice President’s failure to appear is not just an isolated incident but a clear indication of evasion from the truth and from the responsibilities entrusted to her by the citizens,” Cendaña said.
The House Committee on Justice is expected to continue its hearings in the coming days, seeking testimonies and clarifications related to the ongoing investigation.
