House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III called on all barangay officials nationwide to actively support the government’s anti-corruption campaign by remaining vigilant in monitoring the implementation of projects within their communities.

Speaking before local leaders during the Liga ng mga Barangay Congress held at the World Trade Center, Speaker Dy emphasized that the approval of a transparent and accountable national budget is only the first step toward eliminating corruption in public service.

Dy, who began his political career at the barangay level in Isabela province, highlighted the crucial role of grassroots leaders in ensuring that government-funded projects are properly carried out after the release of national funds.

He urged barangay officials to closely coordinate with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and its district offices to monitor the progress and quality of infrastructure projects being implemented in their respective areas.

“By staying informed and involved, barangay leaders can help guarantee that every project follows the approved plan and meets the standards expected by the community,” Dy said.

The Speaker added that transparency and collaboration between local and national government agencies are vital to promoting good governance and public trust. He also underscored that curbing corruption requires the participation of every level of government—from national policymakers down to barangay officials.

Dy concluded his speech by encouraging local leaders to continue serving their constituents with integrity, accountability, and dedication, noting that strong community oversight is key to achieving meaningful progress.
