Hsinchu, Taiwan — December 15, 2025

A scaffolding collapse occurred on Monday morning at a construction site along Industrial East 4th Road in Hsinchu Science Park, resulting in injuries to three male construction workers. The workers fell from an estimated height of approximately five meters and were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

According to medical authorities, all three workers are in stable condition and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Reported injuries include abrasions, lacerations to the forehead, and cuts to the lower legs.

The Hsinchu Science Park Administration stated that labor inspection authorities have been notified and will promptly conduct an investigation to determine the cause of the accident and assess whether any safety violations were involved.

The site is part of the Hsinchu Science Park’s New Phase III standard factory building renovation project, which aims to revitalize aging industrial facilities. The redevelopment includes standard factory buildings with underground levels ranging from three to eight floors. The project was designed by Pan-Architects (Pan Ji Architects & Associates) and is being constructed by Chung Lin Construction Co., Ltd.

Construction had reportedly reached the final stages of exterior work, with completion originally scheduled for the third quarter of next year. Authorities noted that it remains unclear whether Monday’s incident will affect the project timeline, pending the outcome of the investigation and subsequent safety assessments.

The Hsinchu Science Park Administration emphasized that ensuring worker safety remains the top priority as the inquiry proceeds.
