Loreto, Agusan del Sur — A helicopter belonging to the Philippine Air Force (PAF) crashed in a mountainous area of Loreto, Agusan del Sur, on Tuesday, November 4, the Eastern Mindanao Command (EastMinCom) confirmed.
According to Lt. Col. Salvacion Evangelista, spokesperson of EastMinCom, the aircraft was on a humanitarian disaster response mission in connection with Tropical Storm Tino (Bagyong #TinoPH) when the incident occurred.
Authorities have yet to release further details regarding the crash, including the type of helicopter involved and the number of personnel on board.
Investigation teams have been dispatched to the crash site to determine the cause of the accident. As of now, rescue and retrieval operations are ongoing in the area.
