Manila, Philippines (November 4, 2025)— Ombudsman Boying Remulla announced that formal charges may soon be filed against individuals allegedly involved in the flood control corruption scandal, possibly starting November 11.
During a press briefing on Tuesday, November 4, Remulla said the Office of the Ombudsman is currently reviewing counter-affidavits submitted by those implicated in the case.
“Let’s say we receive the counter-affidavits within this week. Next week, we can already have a resolution. Once the resolution is approved by the panel, it will go to my office, and then comes the instruction of filing already,” Remulla stated.
The ongoing investigation focuses on alleged irregularities in government-funded flood control projects, which have drawn public scrutiny due to reports of overpricing and fund misuse.
Once the reviewing panel finalizes its findings, the Ombudsman’s office is expected to determine the specific charges and the officials who will face prosecution.
