Taipei, Taiwan – November 17, 2025 – A workplace accident in Neihu District left a 41-year-old man with a severed finger on Monday afternoon. The incident occurred at approximately 2:00 p.m. in an office building on Xinhu 1st Road.
The victim, identified by the surname Huang, was operating a drilling machine at a garment factory when his left index finger was accidentally severed. Colleagues quickly called emergency services after noticing heavy bleeding.
Police and firefighters arrived promptly at the scene, providing first aid before transporting Mr. Huang to Tri-Service General Hospital. Paramedics ensured he remained conscious and preserved the severed finger in ice for potential reattachment. Officials confirmed that the employee’s life is not in danger.
Preliminary investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the accident. Huang is scheduled for surgery, and authorities are reviewing safety protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future.
