Changhua County, Taiwan (Nov. 1, 2025)— A large fire broke out early Friday morning at a plastic canvas factory in Yongjing Township, sending thick black smoke high into the sky and alarming nearby residents.
According to reports, the blaze began in a warehouse on Yongxing Road, where plastic canvas and other raw materials were stored. The flames spread rapidly due to the highly flammable contents, creating intense heat and heavy smoke visible from several kilometers away.
Fortunately, the fire started before working hours, and no casualties or injuries were reported.
The Changhua County Fire Department immediately responded, deploying 21 fire trucks and a total of 59 firefighters and volunteer personnel to the scene. After nearly two hours of continuous firefighting efforts, the blaze was successfully contained.
Officials said the factory covered an area of around 1,000 square meters, with the main buildings occupying about 600 square meters. Damage was largely concentrated in the warehouse section.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, which remains unknown at this time.
