Manila, Philippines – October 19, 2025

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has emphasized the importance of readiness and vigilance as the country continues to face successive natural calamities, including recent typhoons and earthquakes that have affected several regions across the Philippines.

In a public statement released on Sunday, President Marcos urged all Filipinos to prioritize safety and preparedness at all times. He advised the public to establish a family emergency plan, prepare a go-bag containing essential items, and be cautious of false or misleading information circulating during emergencies.

“The safety of every Filipino family depends on our readiness. Beyond response and recovery, preparedness is key,” President Marcos stated.

The Chief Executive reiterated that disaster preparedness is a shared duty between the government and the public, stressing that proactive measures can significantly reduce the impact of natural disasters on lives and properties.

Government agencies, including the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), continue to monitor potential weather disturbances and seismic activities nationwide. The public is encouraged to stay informed through official channels and follow evacuation and safety advisories when necessary.
