A breakfast turned into a horrifying experience for a man in Hsinchu County after he accidentally swallowed a piece of glass hidden in his scrambled eggs.
According to reports, the man was eating when he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his mouth. Upon checking, he discovered a 2-centimeter glass shard mixed in with the eggs. Unfortunately, he had already swallowed another half-centimeter piece, which caused injuries to his tongue and throat.
He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors performed surgery to remove the swallowed glass fragment. The man remains hospitalized but is now in stable condition.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine how the glass shards ended up in the food and whether it came from the restaurant, food packaging, or preparation process. Health officials are also inspecting the establishment involved to prevent similar incidents.
