A tragic discovery was made at a motel in Taichung City’s North District on Friday morning, when a man was found lifeless inside his room. Authorities confirmed that the guest, who showed no signs of breathing or heartbeat, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to initial reports, the victim was a 30-year-old man who checked in alone late Thursday night (November 6). At around 9:00 a.m. Friday, hotel staff attempted to deliver breakfast but received no response despite knocking several times. When they unlocked the door, they found the man lying face down on the bed, unresponsive. Terrified by the sight, they immediately called the police and emergency services for assistance.
Responding paramedics confirmed that the man was already deceased and did not transport him to the hospital.
Investigators said the doors and windows were intact, with no signs of forced entry or struggle. The police have since cordoned off the area and collected evidence, while the forensic team conducted an initial examination of the scene.
Authorities stated that an autopsy will be performed under the supervision of a prosecutor and forensic expert to determine the exact cause of death. Investigators will also review the motel’s security camera footage to trace the victim’s movements from the night before and to check whether any other individuals entered the room.
The case remains under investigation.
