Among these benefits, the National Pension Insurance Funeral Benefit carries the highest payout. It is available to the families of insured individuals who pass away while covered under the National Pension Insurance (before age 65). The benefit may be claimed by the person who actually paid the funeral expenses. Required documents include the application form, death certificate, a copy of the household registration, and proof of funeral costs. Claims must be filed within five years of the insured’s death.
This benefit is calculated based on five times the insured’s monthly premium at the time of death. For instance, if an insured individual with a monthly premium of NT$19,761 died in January 2023, the total benefit amount would be NT$98,805.
As for the much-awaited NT$10,000 cash assistance, the government confirmed that it will be distributed through five methods:
-
Online registration and deposit (registration opens November 5)
-

-

-

-

The direct deposit and list distribution options will begin rolling out on November 12, 2025. The government advised citizens to verify their preferred method of receiving the funds to ensure a smooth and timely disbursement.
