October 13, 2025 — Taipei, Taiwan
EVA Air is mourning the loss of a flight attendant who became seriously ill during a long-haul flight and later passed away after hospitalization in Taiwan. The airline confirmed that the incident is under active investigation.
According to reports, the flight attendant had been unwell during a four-day Milan-bound trip. Throughout the journey, she repeatedly informed fellow crew members of her condition. On the return flight, despite feeling weak, the cabin crew chief failed to immediately contact the onboard medical support system (MedLink) or provide proper assistance.
During a scheduled rest break, the crew member requested help in calling an ambulance upon landing, but her requests were reportedly ignored or dismissed, with one response suggesting she would need to pay for medical assistance herself. Despite finally receiving medical attention after deplaning, the flight attendant’s condition worsened, and she passed away on October 10, 2025.
Influencer “Crazy Captain James” revealed the sequence of events on YouTube, emphasizing that the flight attendant was unable to walk to her seat due to her weakened condition and that other crew members were shocked by the lack of proper medical response.
EVA Air expressed its deepest condolences and sorrow over the loss, stating that the airline had maintained contact with the family throughout the colleague’s hospitalization. The company affirmed that it is conducting a thorough investigation and will clarify the circumstances as soon as possible. EVA Air also pledged to provide full support to the family regarding related matters.
