The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that the death toll from Typhoon Tino has reached 204, with widespread destruction particularly in the Visayas and parts of Mindanao.

Among the reported fatalities, 141 occurred in Cebu, 27 in Negros Occidental, 20 in Negros Oriental, 6 in Agusan del Sur, 3 in Capiz, 2 in Southern Leyte, and one each in Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, Bohol, and Leyte.

The agency also confirmed that 109 individuals remain missing, with 57 in Cebu, 42 in Negros Occidental, and 10 in Negros Oriental.

Meanwhile, 156 people were reported injured due to the typhoon, affecting residents in Cebu, Leyte, Negros Occidental, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur.

Extent of Impact

The storm affected over 820,000 families, equivalent to nearly 2.9 million individuals, across more than 6,000 barangays in eight regions of the country.

Damage assessments revealed that roads and bridges were damaged, some towns and cities experienced power outages, water supply interruptions, and communication disruptions.

In the agriculture sector, losses are estimated at ₱40.7 million, while damage to infrastructure amounts to ₱17.25 million.

Government Response

In response, the government has already distributed ₱198 million worth of aid to families affected by Typhoon Tino, providing relief to those impacted by the storm’s destructive effects.

Authorities continue to monitor recovery efforts and urge affected communities to remain vigilant against ongoing hazards, particularly flooding and landslides in typhoon-prone areas.
