Taipei, Taiwan — The Central Weather Administration (CWA) reported today, November 23, that the northeast monsoon has weakened, bringing cooler early mornings and evenings across Taiwan. Nationwide low temperatures ranged between 16°C and 20°C, with even lower readings in open and mountainous regions. By contrast, daytime temperatures climbed noticeably compared to yesterday.
According to the CWA, daytime highs reached 25°C to 27°C in northern Taiwan, Yilan, and Hualien, while central and southern Taiwan, along with Taitung, experienced warmer conditions of 28°C to 30°C.
Clearer Skies and Improved Conditions Today
Moisture has dropped significantly, resulting in mostly cloudy to sunny weather throughout the island. Only a few windward areas—such as Keelung’s northern coast, eastern Taiwan, the Hengchun Peninsula, and the mountainous zones of Greater Taipei—saw occasional light showers.

Light Rain Expected Monday as Monsoon Strengthens Again
On Monday, November 24, rain chances will increase slightly in Keelung’s northern coast, the Greater Taipei area, and Yilan, with localized and temporary showers. Eastern Taiwan, Hualien, and the Hengchun Peninsula may also see scattered rainfall.
Most regions will remain cloudy to sunny. However, by Monday night, the northeast monsoon will strengthen once more, leading to cooler conditions in northern Taiwan and Yilan. Other regions will also experience cooler mornings and evenings.

From Tuesday, November 25, to Friday, November 28, the strengthened northeast monsoon will persist, keeping northern Taiwan and Yilan on the cooler side. Morning and nighttime temperatures across the island will remain crisp.
Localized brief showers are forecast along Keelung’s northern coast, eastern Taiwan, areas north of Taoyuan, and the Hengchun Peninsula. Other regions will enjoy mostly stable, partly sunny weather.
