Taipei, Taiwan (November 23, 2025)— The last stage of the NT$10,000 “Post Office Cash Withdrawal” program will officially begin next Monday, November 24. Chunghwa Post is reminding the public that, during the first week of implementation, in-person withdrawals will follow an odd–even system based on the final digit of a recipient’s ID card or residence permit number.
-
Odd-numbered last digits: Eligible to visit counters on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
-
Even-numbered last digits: Eligible to visit counters on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays
To make the process accessible across Taiwan, cash can be withdrawn during regular savings and remittance service hours at post offices in both urban and rural areas, including outlying islands. Citizens may also continue to use other collection methods such as registered deposits and ATM withdrawals.
Requirements for In-Person Collection
Chunghwa Post is urging customers to bring their National Health Insurance (NHI) card when collecting cash at the counter.
If someone is claiming the NT$10,000 on behalf of another person, the representative must present their own photo identification—such as an NHI card, ID card, or residence permit—along with the recipient’s NHI card.
Odd–Even System to Ease First-Week Congestion
To better manage foot traffic and reduce waiting times, the company will enforce the odd–even withdrawal system from November 24 to November 29. This staggered schedule is expected to minimize crowding at post office branches during the program’s kickoff week.
Chunghwa Post also noted that elderly customers aged 65 and above and people with disabilities will be given priority and directed to accessible or friendly service counters for faster assistance.
Special Red Envelopes and Bonus Activity
To mark the rollout of the final phase, Chunghwa Post has created a set of limited-edition red envelopes featuring artwork inspired by the NT$10,000 cash distribution program. Customers who withdraw their funds at post office counters will receive these complimentary envelopes as keepsakes or for storing their cash.
Additionally, a promotional reward activity will run alongside the cash withdrawal program. Whether customers choose to deposit the funds into a post office account, withdraw from an ATM, or collect the amount at a counter, they will have the chance to win useful prizes. These include department store vouchers, convenience store gift cards, and hypermarket coupons—available by completing designated tasks or logging into the campaign’s online portal.
