New Taipei City, Taiwan — March 21, 2026
A late-night fire broke out at a printing factory in New Taipei City, damaging multiple industrial buildings but leaving no casualties, authorities reported.
The incident occurred at around 11:14 p.m. on Litde Street, Zhonghe District, where a three-story printing facility caught fire on its top floor. Due to the presence of highly flammable printing materials, the flames spread rapidly and extended to two adjacent factories. The total affected area was estimated at approximately 200 square meters.
The New Taipei City Fire Department responded swiftly, dispatching 48 fire trucks and 95 personnel to contain the blaze. Firefighters arrived to find the flames intensifying and threatening nearby structures due to the close proximity of the buildings.
Emergency crews immediately set up defensive lines to prevent further spread. By 12:02 a.m., responders had successfully brought the fire under control, stopping it from reaching additional properties. Continuous firefighting and smoke ventilation operations followed, and the fire was fully extinguished at approximately 12:59 a.m.
After gaining control of the scene, firefighters conducted multiple searches inside the affected factories to ensure no individuals were trapped. Authorities confirmed that all three impacted facilities were clear, and no injuries or fatalities were reported.
Initial assessments indicate significant damage to printing equipment and finished goods within the factories. Police and fire investigators have begun examining the site to determine the cause of the blaze, with a full investigation currently underway.
