A 56-year-old woman, identified by police as Ms. Yang, sparked alarm among passengers on the Taipei MRT on Saturday evening after allegedly shouting that she intended to “kill someone” during a heated argument with another commuter. Concerned commuters immediately reported the incident to authorities, prompting a rapid police response.
Officers from the Taipei City Zhongzheng Second Precinct quickly arrived at Guting MRT Station, where the woman was located. Police conducted a security check and confirmed that she was not carrying any dangerous items or weapons.
Police Investigating the Cause of the Dispute
Authorities stated that Ms. Yang refused to explain what led to the confrontation inside the train. She also denied making any threats, including statements about harming others.
Police contacted her family members for assistance, but none were willing to come forward or respond to the situation.

Investigators said they have been unable to reach the person who was involved in the argument with Ms. Yang, as well as the witness who initially called police. Officers will continue reviewing information and verifying details to determine what happened.
