Malacañang on Thursday denied claims that the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) has lost credibility following the resignation of former Public Works Secretary Rogelio Singson, one of its three members.
Palace press officer Undersecretary Claire Castro emphasized that the ICI still has capable and competent members despite Singson’s departure. She suggested that reports questioning the commission’s credibility may be intended to spread misinformation.
Singson, 77, resigned from the ICI citing health concerns and personal security considerations. Authorities and Palace officials continue to affirm the integrity and functionality of the commission in carrying out its mandate.
