The Quezon City government has officially barred the United People’s Initiative (UPI) and other organizations from staging future protest actions at the EDSA People Power Monument following alleged violations of their agreement with the local government.

In a letter issued by the QC LGU, officials stated that during the November 17, 2025 rally organized by UPI, several speakers reportedly urged participants—through speeches and banners—to engage in acts that may be classified as sedition, rebellion, or insurrection.

The city government emphasized that such actions constituted a direct breach of the conditions set when organizers were granted permission to use the site, leading to the suspension of their privilege to hold activities at the historic landmark.

Local officials underscored that while freedom of speech and peaceful assembly are guaranteed rights, these must be exercised responsibly and within legal bounds to ensure public safety and order.
