MANILA, Philippines (November 18, 2025)— House Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos issued a strongly worded statement on Tuesday defending President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and himself against allegations made by his aunt, Senator Imee Marcos, during an Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) rally.
In an official statement released to the media, Sandro Marcos said he had long respected the role his aunt played in his early public life but stressed that this would be the “first and last time” he would address her accusations.
The young lawmaker condemned what he described as Sen. Imee’s “web of lies” aimed at destabilizing the administration for political gain. He called the senator’s claims against the President, the First Lady, and—unexpectedly—himself, “false” and “dangerously irresponsible.”
“Sa lahat po ng binanggit ni senadora, walang basehan, walang katotohanan, at walang magandang idudulot sa bayan,” Sandro said in the statement.
He also cited support from their cousins — Ilocos Norte Vice Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc, Borgy Manotoc, and Atty. Michael Marcos Keon — saying they could attest that the insinuations made against him were untrue.
Sandro expressed sadness that Senator Imee had brought family matters into public discourse, noting that they had always agreed never to let issues involving their parents divide them.
“That is why nakakalungkot makita na ginagawa niya ito,” he said. “For her to betray her own family brings a lot of pain to me as a consequence of my respect to her for giving me my start in public life.”
He urged the public to stand by the truth and not to be swayed by narratives intended to create political turmoil.
“Panahon ngayon para magtulungan, hindi para magpalaganap ng gulo at destabilization,” Sandro emphasized. “Hindi ito asal ng isang tunay na kapatid.”
The Majority Leader’s statement comes amid growing tensions within the Marcos family following the senator’s explosive claims during the INC-organized anti-corruption rally at the Quirino Grandstand.
