October 30, 2025 – Taipei, Taiwan
Taiwan is set to experience two rounds of northeast monsoons in the coming days, bringing cooler temperatures—particularly in the northern and northeastern regions—according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA).
The CWA reported that the first northeast monsoon will strengthen beginning Thursday evening (October 30), leading to a noticeable drop in temperature. Northern and northeastern Taiwan are expected to feel cooler, while other regions will experience slightly lower temperatures during the morning and evening. Localized brief showers are expected in northern and northeastern Taiwan, with scattered rain in eastern and southeastern areas, including the Hengchun Peninsula. Central and southern regions will remain mostly cloudy to sunny.
The first wave of the monsoon will persist until Monday, November 3, maintaining cool conditions in the north and northeast. During this period, brief showers may occur along the Keelung North Coast, Greater Taipei, northeastern Taiwan, and Hualien-Taitung regions. Light rain is also possible in the mountain areas of Hsinchu, Miaoli, and parts of southern Taiwan during the afternoon.
Forecasts indicate that low temperatures will range from 19°C to 21°C in the north and northeast, 21°C to 24°C in central, southern, and eastern regions, 18°C to 21°C in Matsu, and 20°C to 23°C in Kinmen and Penghu.
By Tuesday, November 4, the first monsoon is expected to weaken, leading to a brief warming trend. However, another round of the northeast monsoon is expected to arrive by Wednesday, once again causing temperatures to drop.
According to the weather page WeatherRisk, residents in northern Taiwan and Yilan can expect cool weather throughout the day, while central, southern, and eastern areas will continue to experience significant differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures. Authorities advise the public to stay updated on weather changes and prepare warm clothing as cooler conditions set in.
