A third-floor tin house on Changchun Road in Luodong Town, close to the popular Luodong Night Market, caught fire around 4:00 p.m. Sunday, sending thick smoke and flames billowing into the surrounding area.
The Yilan County Fire Department received the emergency call at 4:12 p.m., reporting a fire in the densely populated city center. Firefighters from multiple units—including the Second Brigade, Wujie, Dongshan, Guangxing, Luodong, and Marseille detachments—were dispatched to contain the blaze.
Authorities confirmed that no residents were trapped inside the tin house at the time of the fire. Emergency crews quickly extinguished the flames, preventing further spread to nearby structures.
Eyewitnesses captured images and videos of the fire, which were shared on social media, showing thick smoke and bright flames engulfing the building. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by local authorities.
Residents and business owners in the area have been advised to stay alert and exercise caution, especially in densely populated districts with older structures.
