October 15, 2025 – NEGROS ISLAND — The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported ash emissions from Kanlaon Volcano on the morning of Wednesday, October 15.

According to PHIVOLCS, the volcanic activity occurred between 6:54 a.m. and 7:40 a.m., producing grayish plumes that rose approximately 100 meters above the crater. The ash clouds were observed drifting southwest, as recorded by the Kanlaon Volcano Observatory’s IP camera in Canlaon City.

PHIVOLCS maintained Alert Level 2 for Kanlaon Volcano, signaling moderate volcanic unrest. Authorities reminded the public that entry into the 4-kilometer radius Permanent Danger Zone remains strictly prohibited. Additionally, all air traffic near the volcano’s summit continues to be restricted to ensure safety.
