CEBU, Philippines — October 12, 2025. Former senator Manny Pacquiao extended humanitarian assistance to families affected by the recent Magnitude 6.9 earthquake in Northern Cebu. His office distributed 25 kilograms of rice each to 500 beneficiaries in several hard-hit communities.
In addition to rice donations, Pacquiao’s team — in partnership with various volunteer groups — provided medicines, vitamins, mosquito nets, sleeping mats, blankets, bottled water, food packs, tarpaulins for tents, and emergency lights to residents who continue to recover from the devastation.
According to Pacquiao’s office, the relief operation aimed to offer immediate support to families whose homes and livelihoods were disrupted by the powerful quake. The initiative is part of the former senator’s continuing outreach efforts to assist Filipinos affected by natural calamities across the country.
The relief drive was warmly received by locals, many of whom expressed gratitude through social media posts, commending Pacquiao’s compassion and consistency in helping communities even after leaving public office.
Residents praised the former senator for personally funding the aid from his own resources, reflecting his long-standing advocacy for charity and public service.
The Magnitude 6.9 earthquake, which struck parts of Cebu earlier this week, caused significant damage to structures and displaced hundreds of families in northern towns. Government agencies and private organizations continue to coordinate efforts to restore affected communities.
