BANGKOK, Thailand — October 5, 2025. In an effort to bring government services closer to overseas Filipinos, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) officially inaugurated the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) Bangkok on October 4—the first MWO in Thailand and the 43rd worldwide.
The establishment of the new office fulfills President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to make assistance and protection more accessible for the over 40,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) residing and working in Thailand.
Present at the inauguration were Ambassador Millicent Cruz Paredes, DMW Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac, OWWA Administrator PY Caunan, and Labor Attaché Don Pangcog, along with DMW Assistant Secretary Regina Galias, OWWA Deputy Administrator Rossane Catapang, and OWWA Directors Edelyn Dungan-Claustro and Ronald Mina. Together, they reaffirmed the government’s strong commitment to the welfare and protection of Filipino migrant workers.
Secretary Cacdac emphasized that the newly opened MWO Bangkok will serve as a “home away from home” for OFWs—providing vital services such as welfare assistance, labor documentation, and emergency support. It will also function as a vital bridge between the Philippine government and the Filipino community in Thailand.
An OWWA Welfare Officer will also be deployed soon to further strengthen on-site services as part of the government’s #SerbisyongMayPuso campaign, which promotes compassionate service for Filipinos abroad.
The MWO Bangkok is located at Rooms 910 & 911, Linuxx Serviced Offices, 9th Floor, Emporium Tower, 622 Sukhumvit Road, Khlong Ton, Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110.
It operates from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
