Kaohsiung, Taiwan (October 3, 2025)— A shocking case of violence unfolded in Qishan District when a father and daughter, both identified with the surname Zheng and known as local developers, were discovered with multiple stab wounds inside a parked vehicle on Zhongliao Road.
The incident occurred in the early hours of September 28. Authorities reported that the 74-year-old father and his 46-year-old daughter were found unconscious, lying in a pool of blood. The daughter had sustained two stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, while the father suffered four stab injuries—three to the chest and one to the abdomen.
Emergency responders rushed the father to Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital, where he was placed under intensive care. Reports later surfaced that his breathing and heartbeat briefly stopped after extubation, but medical teams managed to revive his vital signs. Despite this, his condition remains critical.
Police investigations revealed that the family had alerted authorities at around 12:35 a.m. after noticing the father had left home in his car, leaving behind a note. At approximately 2:55 a.m., officers located the vehicle and made the grim discovery.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the case, including the motive and identity of the attacker, as the community reels from the tragedy.
