The Daanbantayan Church, officially known as the Archdiocesan Shrine of Santa Rosa de Lima, partially collapsed following a magnitude 6.7 earthquake that struck Bogo City, Cebu on Tuesday evening.

The tremor, which occurred at 9:59 p.m., caused significant structural damage to the centuries-old church, a historic and religious landmark in the region. Initial reports describe parts of the building at risk of further collapse.

Authorities are urging residents and tourists to avoid the area while damage assessments and safety inspections are underway. Emergency and disaster response teams have been dispatched to secure the site and prevent injuries.

The earthquake, with its epicenter located 17 kilometers north-northeast of Bogo City, was felt across Cebu and nearby regions, prompting widespread concern among locals.
